GREAT SEKCO YENNSURO (We're Not Afraid!)

I hope all Sekodians see their reflection in the school's motto---Sekco Yennsuro!

I think perhaps the unforgivable sin, if theirs is one, is to be timid. The boldness of the phrase SECKO YENNSURO! What an inspiring phrase for a school's motto.Shouldn't that inspire all of us to attempt to do something great and fail, than attempt to do nothing and succeed?

The allotment of time to each of us on this earth is finite. Once spent, it is not to be regained. The question then is "What are we Not Afraid to spend our time on?" What are we attempting to succeed at? The best definition of success I have come across is: Success is the progressive realization of a worthy good. What would you attempt to do if you knew you couldn't fail? Don't be afraid.Let us be guided by the school's motto and go for it!

The wisdom in adopting the principles of not being afraid to try at all times, is a sound one.

You're not asked to accept as true the meaning contained in the school's motto, merely because it is being asserted to be true. All that you're being asked to do is to accept it at least tentatively, as a working hypothesis...the general principle of the motto. Keep in mind that you have at your disposal the means to test and prove the truth of the assertion ---the means of actual application, experiment and experience of the motto.

At the end of our finite time here on earth, let it not be said of us that we were afraid to take bold steps to do something great.Begin today to make your dream come true. You can if you will. You will do if you dare!Don't be afraid. Great Secko Yennsuro!
